Not sure where to go for health help?

The NHS in South East London has launched a new “Guide to Healthcare” to help you get the right care, faster. Save this list for when you or your family feel unwell!
- Self-Care at Home π For minor issues like coughs, grazes, or small bruises. Rest, drink fluids, and keep a stocked first-aid kit.
- Your Local Pharmacy π Go here first for expert advice on: Skin infections, painful injuries, or bad coughs. Hayfever, headaches, and indigestion. Many pharmacies can now prescribe certain medicines without a GP visit!
- NHS 111 β “Think 111 First” π Need medical help but itβs NOT an emergency? Visit 111.nhs.uk or call 111. Best for: Injuries that won’t stop bleeding (10+ mins), bad sprains, or burns. They can book you into the right service or even an A&E slot if needed.
- Mental Health Support π§ For stress, anxiety, or low mood: Contact your GP. For urgent mental health help: Call 111 and select the mental health option.
- Eye Problems ποΈ Don’t go to A&E for red eyes or vision changes. Search for a local “Minor Eye Conditions Service” (MECS) for specialist care.
- Emergencies (Call 999) π¨ For life-threatening emergencies only (e.g., chest pain, difficulty breathing, or severe blood loss).
